Louisiana Nationwide GMRS Network

The Louisiana Nationwide network is a state-spanning GMRS communications system designed for licensed GMRS users. Built on top of HamVoIP & AllStarLink technology and DVSwitch software, this system allows multiple nodes across Louisiana and beyond to connect seamlessly, enabling wide-area, real-time voice communication over the internet and RF.

This network was founded in response to the closure of the original Roadkill GMRS Network, which had served many GMRS users for years. Louisiana Nationwide carries forward the spirit of open access and reliability, offering a home for users displaced by that shutdown.

Using Custom nodes designed in Louisiana and DVSwitch-compatible devices (such as mobile and pc apps and radio-linked interfaces), users can join the system from anywhere and communicate reliably across the state. Each node is configured for interoperability, courtesy of standardized scripts and custom configuration for streamlined deployment and consistent behavior.

The system supports:

  • Full TX/RX linking between hubs and local repeaters Waiting FCC approval
  • Digital access via DVSwitch and IAX clients
  • Timeout control and custom audio playback
  • Support for remote administration and monitoring

Louisiana Nationwide is built with the community in mind. Always free to use, maintained by volunteers, and designed to support both daily use and emergency communications. It is one of the few GMRS networks providing wide-area coverage using open-source technology.

Join us on the air, or connect with DVSwitch to become part of the Louisiana GMRS community!
